Trip Insurance / Cruise Protection

Crystal's Cruise Protection Program not only provides reimbursement for penalties that may be assessed due to cancellations for covered reasons, but also provides medical expense reimbursement for covered accidents overseas, whereas Medicare and other private insurance policies may not. 

The information immediately below applies to travel protection purchased on or after September 1, 2019. 

i. Trip Cancellation:  Up to 100% of Trip Cost

Reimburses your prepaid, non-refundable expenses if you must cancel your voyage due to a covered reason. Maximum coverage: $100,000. Protect your trip before your final trip payment date to be eligible for pre-existing medical conditions coverage*.

ii. Trip Interruption:  Up to 100% of Trip Cost

Reimburses the unused, non-refundable portion of your voyage and the increased transportation costs to return home or to continue your journey due to a covered reason. Maximum coverage: $100,000.

iii. Emergency Medical and Dental: $50,000

Reimburses up to $2,500 per insured guest for additional accommodations and “catch-up— transportation expenses for covered delays of more than 12 hours

iv. Emergency Transportation:  $250,000

Provides benefits for medically necessary transportation to the nearest appropriate facility following a covered illness or injury during your voyage. May also cover the cost of your transportation back home following a covered illness or injury.

v. Travel Delay:  $1,000

Reimburses up to $300 per day per person for additional travel and lost prepaid expenses if your journey is delayed for a covered reason*. May also reimburse additional transportation expenses if you miss your cruise because of a covered delay.

vi. Baggage Loss/Damage: $3,000

Provides benefits for the loss, damage, or theft of baggage and personal effects.

vii. Baggage Delay: $1,000

Reimburses the reasonable additional purchase of essential items during your trip if your baggage is delayed or misdirected by a common carrier*. Receipts for emergency purchases are required.

viii. 24-Hour Hotline Help: Included

For guests sailing on Crystal Expedition Cruises voyages, due to the remote destinations visited by Crystal Endeavor, Crystal highly recommends the purchase of trip cancellation insurance.

How to Enroll

For your convenience, if you (or your travel agent) has indicated you wish to enroll, the cost of the plan, which includes both insurance benefits and non-insurance features or services, is based upon your total vacation price, will be included upon your cruise invoice. Payment for this plan may not be accepted later than the final trip payment. The plan cost will be shown on your deposit receipt. Please ask your travel professional to confirm that your booking is correctly noted by our Reservations Department. Should you decide to purchase Cruise Protection, simply pay the plan cost with your final payment. Trip Cancellation benefits take effect upon receipt of Cruise Protection payment. All other benefits take effect upon departure.
