From the pier, your air-conditioned motor coach will transport you to the famous Old North Church. There, you will see where signal lanterns were hung to initiate Paul Revere’s ride.
Shortly thereafter, your motor coach will take you to the Navy Yard. In Charlestown, you will view the exterior of the USS Constitution, affectionately known as “Old Ironsides,” which is the oldest commissioned naval ship afloat in the world.

Next, pass through the elegantly refurbished 19th-century Back Bay. See restored brownstones and chic boutiques before proceeding past Trinity Church, Richardson’s pink granite and sandstone masterpiece. Other sights will include the Boston Public Library and the attractive Public Garden with its manicured flowerbeds.

Atmospheric Beacon Hill with its narrow brick houses and ornate gas lights overlooks Boston Common, America’s oldest public park. Next, view the “new” State House with its hand-hammered gold dome, and one of our country’s most beautiful war memorials, a tribute to Robert Gould Shaw’s 54th Regiment.

Boston takes great pride in its institutions of higher learning. In fact, Boston’s sister city of Cambridge lies just a short distance across the Charles River. Continue with a drive through Harvard Square, where a short stop will be made at Harvard Yard.

Your excursion then takes an overview of 250 years of history by following the Freedom Trail. Among the historic sights you will pass are the King’s Chapel and Burial Ground and the Old South Meeting House, where colonists gathered on the eve of the Boston Tea Party. Additional highlights include the Old Corner Bookstore and the Old State House, the seat of British royal authority in pre-Revolutionary Boston. Then, glimpse Faneuil Hall, the “Cradle of Liberty,” and Quincy Market as you travel back toward the historic waterfront and the Italian North End.

This is a richly rewarding opportunity to become acquainted with one of America’s greatest cities.
